English class to teach American history and government

This is the first class ever in Houston to teach our Karenni people by Karenni Community of Houston about a piece of American heritages. 12 students, aged between 35 to 65, are attending every Saturday at 6 till 9pm. The first 2 hours is about American history and government. And, the rest one hour is related to everyday use English. Except one Karen, all students are Karenni.

Passing of some American civics questions is one of the requirements to become a citizen of the United States.

The class started in March 2012.
